Ivo Basay (born April 13, 1966 in Santiago de Chile ) is a former Chilean - Croatian football player on the position of striker and current football coach .

Life

Basay began his professional career in 1983 with CD Magallanes and later also played with CSD Colo-Colo , which was founded in 1925 by some dissatisfied members of the former club and where he also let his active career end between 1995 and 1999.

Basay spent the previous years between 1987 and 1995 abroad, where he played for the French club Stade Reims , the Mexican club Necaxa and the Argentine Boca Juniors .

In addition, Basay completed a total of 24 international appearances for the Chilean national football team between 1986 and 1997 , in which he scored seven goals.

Since the end of his active career, Ivo Basay has been working as a coach and was most recently head coach of the Chilean clubs Unión San Felipe and O'Higgins .
