The Rāzna Lake , ( Latvian : Rāznas ezers , also Rēznas ezers ) is a lake in eastern Latvia . In terms of volume, it is the largest lake in Latvia and in terms of area the second largest.
The lake is fed by 23 streams and ditches. There are 10 islands with a total area of 24.6 hectares. In the east the lake bed is sandy, in the north it consists of clay. Since 1940 the water level has been lower by regulating the outflow of the Rēzekne . When the water level is high, some of the water runs off over the neighboring Lake Zosna .
In 2006, the Rāzna National Park was established on the basis of an existing nature reserve . There are 26 species of fish in the lake .
