Alebrijes de Oaxaca FC
Alebrijes de Oaxaca FC is a Mexican football club from Oaxaca , the capital of the state of the same name .
history
Start in the second division
After the city of Oaxaca de Juárez was last represented in the second Mexican football league between 2001 and 2006 (initially between 2001 and 2003 by the Chapulineros and in the following three seasons by Cruz Azul Oaxaca ), local politicians and entrepreneurs were asked to to be represented by a team in the second division again.
Various license postponements that took place after the 2012/13 season made it possible to join the 2013/14 season . In this way a new franchise was created , named after the alebrije - a wooden figure popular in Oaxaca, with which various animal species are represented in imaginative and colorful variants.
Clausura 2014
The Alebrijes had a sensational run in the 2014 Clausura of the Mexican Cup competition . First they won the preliminary group 3 in front of the Tiburones Rojos Veracruz , the Lobos de la BUAP and the Chiapas FC and then they prevailed in the quarter-finals against the Gallos Blancos Querétaro and in the semifinals against the CF Pachuca , before they beat the Tigres de in the final la UANL documents .

Like their predecessor clubs represented in the second division , the Alebrijes also play their home games at the Estadio Benito Juárez in Oaxaca de Juárez.
