Liga de Ascenso 2012/13

The 2012/13 season is the fourth season since the establishment of the Liga de Ascenso , the second soccer league in Mexico . Compared to the previous season there were the following changes: the overall champion and first division promoted León left the league for sporting reasons as well as the CF Indios, who had already been excluded during the winter break of the previous season, due to excessive liabilities. The first division relegated from the previous season , Estudiantes Tecos, is new . There was no promoted or relegated to the third-class Segunda División .

The 2012/13 season, which started with 15 teams, began on Friday, July 20, 2012, with the meetings between Necaxa and Lobos BUAP (3: 1) and Correcaminos UAT and Cruz Azul Hidalgo (3: 0). Furthermore, in the third encounter, first division relegated Estudiantes did not go beyond a 0-0 against Irapuato on his own spot .

At the end of the season, CF La Piedad rose to the first division and should have played there in the 2013/14 season, but sold the promotion rights to the league competitor CD Veracruz , who will instead take advantage of the promotion.
