Pumas Morelos is a Mexican football club based in Cuernavaca , the capital of the state of Morelos . He is the branch team of the UNAM Pumas playing in the second division .

history

The Pumas Morelos was created in June 2006, when the second team of Delfines de Coatzacoalcos end of the season the rise from the 2005-06 Segunda División managed and moved its headquarters to Cuernavaca and renamed accordingly to a start authorization for the La Liga 'A' to receive.

The club have been playing in the second division of Mexico since the 2006/07 season, which was referred to as Primera División 'A' until the 2008/09 season and the Liga de Ascenso since the 2009/10 season .

In the eight seasons so far (in Mexico two tournaments, an Apertura and a Clausura , are played each season ) the Pumas Morelos have qualified three times for the championship finals known as Liguillas . Both in her first participation in the Clausura 2007 (2: 3 and 1: 1 against Puebla ) and her last so far in the Clausura 2010, which bears the official name Torneo Bicentenario 2010 (0: 0 and 1: 2 against La Piedad ) , the Pumas failed in the quarterfinals.

The best season was the Apertura 2008: Here the Pumas were the best team in the league round with 35 points and were able to advance to the semi-finals, in which they failed twice with 0: 1 against Irapuato .
