Jesús Padilla (* 3. March 1987 in San Jose , California , USA ), also known by the nickname Gringo (in Mexico common term for a US Americans) is a Mexican football player , both in midfield and in the attack used is.

Life

Padilla began his professional career in the 2006/07 season with the Mexican record champions Club Deportivo Guadalajara , with whom he immediately won the 2006 Apertura championship in his first half-season . However, he came in the entire championship tournament only to a 24-minute mission, which he denied on August 6, 2006 in the 0-1 season opener defeat of the Chivasi at Deportivo Toluca FC .

His first (and so far only) goal in Mexico's Primera División was scored by Padilla on August 30, 2008 in a 1-1 draw against Monarcas Morelia to equalize in stoppage time after Horacio Cervantes had given the visitors the lead in the 87th minute.

On August 15, 2009, Padilla, who had meanwhile also played for the Chivas reserve team Club Deportivo Tapatío playing in the second-rate Primera División 'A' , played his last game for the time being in the 2-0 home win against Gallos Blancos de Querétaro the Club Deportivo Guadalajara. Shortly thereafter, he received a contract with the US MLS Chivas branch team Chivas USA , for which he completed a total of 37 missions and scored seven goals over the next two years.

The 2011/12 season spent Padilla in the Mexican second-rate in the Liga de Ascenso playing Reboceros de La Piedad , for which he scored seven goals in 28 games before it, the new Chivas coach John van't Schip for the Apertura 2012 back ordered the first team of the CD Guadalajara.

Individual evidence

  1. His profile on Mediotiempo (see web links) and a Spanish-language article on the official website of the CD Guadalajara ( Jesús Padilla, más chiva que nunca ) from March 27, 2007 name San Miguel El Alto in the Mexican state of Jalisco as his place of birth, whereas otherwise San José is called. This is more likely and it is to be assumed that the CD Guadalajara stated the Mexican birthplace, because according to its statutes it is only allowed to sign players born in Mexico; see. the English article 'Gringo' in Chivas' midst: Is Padilla really Mexican? Truth may undermine club ( memento from January 17, 2010 in the Internet Archive ) from February 20, 2008.
