Chapulineros de Oaxaca

Chapulineros de Oaxaca or Club de Fútbol Oaxaca is a Mexican football club based in Oaxaca de Juárez and was founded in 1983. Its home ground is the Estadio Benito Juárez , which was built in 1987 and has a capacity of around 12,000 .

history

The Chapulineros ( Spanish for grasshoppers ) were represented for the first time between 1985 and 1988 for three seasons in the Segunda Division , which at the time was still second class . After winning the third-rate Segunda División 'B' in the 1992/93 season they managed to return to the Segunda Division for the 1993/94 season, which held the rank of a second division for the last time and in this role from the 1994/95 season was replaced by the newly created Primera División 'A' . The Chapulineros participated in this between 2001 and 2003. In order to be accepted into the league, the Chapulineros acquired the license of the Lobos de la BUAP in summer 2001 and sold them in turn to the Guerreros de Tlaxcala two years later .

The Chapulineros currently play in Group IV of the fourth-rate Tercera Division .
