biography

With his parents moving, Guerra spent much of his childhood and youth in Guadalajara. There he played in various youth teams of the Club Deportivo Guadalajara, for which he made his debut as a professional player in the Mexican Primera División on August 23, 1964 in a game against city rivals CF Atlas . After five years with Chivas, he moved to Club de Fútbol Monterrey in 1969 and another five years later to Club Atlético Potosino, for which he worked for two years until the end of his active career in 1976.

Trainer

For Atlético Potosino, Guerra also made his coaching debut in 1979. He later moved to his "hometown club" Guadalajara, with which he was runner-up in 1983 and 1984 and in 1987 won the championship. In 1989 he coached the Mexican national team for three games, all of which were won (3: 1 against Poland, 2: 1 against Guatemala and 2: 0 against El Salvador). After the 1988/89 season he moved to the university club Leones Negros de la UdeG , with which he was also runner-up in 1990.
