Juan Luque de Serrallonga (born May 31, 1882 in Girona , Spain , † July 18, 1967 in Mexico City , Mexico ) was a Spanish-Mexican football coach and goalkeeper .

He spent most of his playing career in the ranks of Español de Cádiz . He was also under contract with Sevilla FC in the 1915/16 season .

In 1928 he immigrated to Mexico, where he worked as a trainer for a long time. At the 1930 World Cup , he coached the Mexican national soccer team and then the CF Asturias . In 1950 he won the Mexican championship with the CD Veracruz .

An anecdote reported about his mischievous temperament that is said to have occurred during the 1930 World Cup when Mexico and Argentina met (3: 6). After an apparently durable long-range shot by Argentine defender Adolfo Zumelzú hit the net behind Mexican goalkeeper Óscar Bonfiglio , Serrallonga, standing right behind the gate, is said to have said: "Bonfiglio, what on earth is this crap? What's going on?" Knowing about his mistake, the goalkeeper is said to have humbly apologized: "The sun, don Juan, the sun." That should have made Serrallonga really angry and he yelled at Bonfiglio: "Then we'll just arrange a night game to see if the moon doesn't bother you too."
