The Pro Acoustics GmbH & Co. KG is an association of independent hearing care professionals from all over Germany. The aim of the members is to keep their customers hearing for as long and as good as possible. This includes, above all, the supply of hearing systems and accessories. Hearing protection and audio therapy as well as hearing training are also offered.
history
The company was founded in 1993. The number of members fluctuates as new hearing care professionals are constantly being admitted or leaving the association. Since August 2007, the association's own quality management has been mandatory for all member companies and their employees. The association has an office in Hanover, from which the business and actions are operated and coordinated. Martin Blecker is the managing director. Once a year, the employees from all companies come together for a congress with around 300 participants.
Products
The member companies offer hearing systems and accessories from leading manufacturers as well as hearing protection. Services include audio therapy and hearing training. The hearing training with the FonoForte hearing trainer was developed exclusively for Pro Akustik in cooperation with the Blicklabor of the University of Freiburg. With this, both people with normal hearing and people with hearing loss can train their auditory differentiation skills. The distinction between volume, pitch, gap detection and time order is important for understanding language and can be improved with the training. The effectiveness of the training was proven in a study (hearing - learning. Auditory differentiation: weaknesses and training in adulthood). The aim of the training is to improve the participants' language understanding.
