Luis Grill Prieto (* 1923 ; † April 21, 2011 in Guatemala City , Guatemala ) was a Chilean - Argentine soccer coach .
Life
Luis Grill came to Guatemala in 1963, where he immediately won the Guatemalan championship title with the CSD Municipal in the 1963/64 season. Three years later he won the Copa México with the Mexican Club León in the 1966/67 season. He then returned to Municipal and won the Guatemalan Cup with the club in 1969 and another league title the following year.
After this triumph he moved to the Mexican capital club America , which he coached in the second half of 1970. In the following two decades he coached other Mexican clubs, such as the Tecos de la UAG (1985), Atlético Potosino (1987/88) and the Tiburones Rojos de Veracruz .
He also coached the Chilean club Universidad Católica .
In the 1990s he worked in the junior division of his former club CSD Municipal and is considered the discoverer of the Guatemalan record national player Carlos "el Pescado" Ruiz .
Most recently, from 2000 until shortly before his death, he was employed as a trainer in the youth division of the Guatemalan CSD Comunicaciones .
Luis Grill died on April 21, 2011 of complications from an intestinal problem.
