Rovers FC
The Rovers FC was a football club in Mexico City , which was founded in 1912 and was only a few years.
When the British Club he had founded ten years earlier showed signs of disintegration, Percy Clifford , who played in the ranks of this club, quickly founded a new football club, which was to continue the English representation in the Mexican capital league. He gave this club the name Rovers FC.
Together with the clubs España and México , which were formed at the same time, Rovers FC was included in the Primera Fuerza in the 1912/13 season . He finished the season in third place, two places better than the British Club, which was last involved this season.
According to one source, Rovers FC won the domestic cup competition in its first season in 1912/13, while another source reports that the Copa México never played that season.
The following season 1913/14 finished the Rovers FC in second place, level on points behind the new series champions España.
Due to the bloodletting of a number of players, regular game operations were no longer possible for Rovers FC from 1916. The club had to withdraw its team from the capital league after only four years of membership in the Primera Fuerza. Finally, he won the Copa México in 1916 .
