José Guadalupe Cruz (born November 22, 1967 in Acopeo , Michoacán ) is a retired Mexican football player on the position of defender , who began a career as a coach after his playing career .

Life

With the exception of the 1990/91 season, in which Cruz was on loan for the Querétaro Fútbol Club , he was under contract throughout his sporting career at Club de Fútbol Atlante , with whom he won the Mexican championship in the 1992/93 season .

Trainer

As a coach, he remained connected to his long-standing club Atlante, where he began his coaching career in the 2004/05 season and with which he also celebrated his greatest successes on the sidelines. In the Apertura 2007, the preliminary round of the 2007/08 season , he led the Potros to the first championship at their new location in Cancún and in the following season to win the CONCACAF Champions League 2008/09 by beating former city rivals Cruz Azul from Mexico -City .
