The 1st league in 1954 was the 20th season of the highest Polish men's soccer division . The season began on March 14th and ended on December 4th, 1954.

After the withdrawal of OWKS Kraków (all army teams except CWKS Warsaw had to withdraw) the league played with 11 clubs. Each team played once at home and once away against each of the ten other teams and played 20 games. The last two clubs were relegated.
