Ulrik Rosenløv Laursen (born February 28, 1976 in Odense ) is a former Danish football player .
Career
society
Ulrik Laursen began his career in his native Odense BK . Laursen played for the club from the 1993/94 season to 1999/2000 . After the temporary relegation Laursen was able to celebrate promotion with the team by winning the second division championship in 1999 . After a total of 123 league appearances, he moved to the Scottish first division club Hibernian Edinburgh in June 2000 . In the team coached by Alex McLeish , he became a crowd favorite. With the Hibs he reached the Scottish Cup final in the first year , which was lost to Celtic Glasgow . In August 2002 the defender moved to Celtic for a fee of £ 1.3 million . In Glasgow he was able to establish the defender as a regular in the squad due to his solid defensive game. He benefited from injuries to other players in the squad. In his first year he lost with Celtic in the 2002/03 UEFA Cup final against FC Porto . In the following two years Laursen won the Scottish Championship and the Cup twice with the Bhoys , but lost his place in the starting eleven and was only used sporadically. In 2005 Laursen moved back to Odense for £ 50,000. There he won the Danish Cup against FC Copenhagen in 2007 . After three years at his home club, he moved to the capital for FCK in January 2008 . In Copenhagen he was just as successful as in Glasgow and won the trophy twice with the team and the championship title once. In 2010 he ended his career at the age of 34.
National team
Ulrik Laursen played twelve times in the Danish U-19s from 1993 to 1995 . In the period from 1996 to 1997 he was active in sixteen games in the U-21s and scored one goal. On October 13, 2007 Laursen made his debut in the senior national team against Spain in the European Championship qualifiers. In his second assignment he scored a goal against Latvia . For the Danish selection he was under national coach Morten Olsen until the following year in a total of five games. His last international match was against the Czech Republic in March 2008 .
