Qualification for Uefa cup

The Scottish FA Cup was played for the 120th time in 2004/05 . The most important Scottish soccer cup competition, officially held as Tennent's Scottish Cup and run by the Scottish Football Association, began on November 20, 2004 and ended with the final on May 28, 2005 in Glasgow's Hampden Park . Defending champion Celtic Glasgow , who prevailed against Dunfermline Athletic in the previous year's final , repeated the success in this year's competition by beating Dundee United 1-0 in the final and was thus able to win the 33rd title in the club's history. By winning the cup, Celtic was able to expand the Scottish record as cup winner against the Rangers . For Celtic it should be the only title in the season since the Rangers could win the double of the championship and league cup. For Dundee United, however, it was the seventh loss in the eighth final. The only victory so far was in 1993/94 through a final victory against the Rangers . In the 2009/10 season United was able to reach the cup final again and celebrate the second title by beating Ross County . Since Celtic was runner-up in the Champions League, United played in this competition in the following 2005/06 UEFA Cup season , but was eliminated there early in the second qualifying round against the Finnish club Myllykosken Pallo -47 due to the away goals rule .
