The Scottish FA Cup was played for the 9th time in 1881/82 . The most important football cup competition in Scottish club football was directed and hosted by the Scottish Football Association. He started on August 27, 1881, ended with the repetition of the final on 1 April 1882 at the Cathkin Park of Glasgow . As the defending champion, FC Queen's Park started the competition, which won the final against FC Dumbarton last year and is also the record winner. Last year's finalists met in this year's Scottish Cup final. Queen's Park reached the Scottish Cup final for the sixth time overall, and for the third time in a row. Dumbarton took part in the final for the second time. The first final game ended 2-2. In the repeat finals, Queen's Park won 4-1 and won the trophy in the sixth final for the sixth time in the club's history. From 1882, throw-ins with both hands were allowed.
