The Scottish FA Cup was played for the 71st time in 1955/56 . The most important football cup competition in Scottish club football was directed and hosted by the Scottish Football Association. He started on September 10 in 1955 and ended with the final on 21 April 1956 at Hampden Park of Glasgow . As the defending champion, FC Clyde started the competition, which won against Celtic Glasgow in the final last year . In this year's Scottish Cup final, Celtic Glasgow and Heart of Midlothian faced each other. For Celtic it was the 25th Scottish Cup final since 1889 . The Hearts from Edinburgh reached the cup final for the seventh time since 1891 . The Hearts won the final 3-1. It was the club's first cup win in 50 years . In the 1955/56 season , the Glasgow Rangers were Scottish champions for the 29th time . The Hearts came third, Celtic fifth. The league cup won the FC Aberdeen .
