The Scottish FA Cup was played for the 44th time in 1921/22 . The most important football cup competition in Scottish club football was directed and hosted by the Scottish Football Association. He started on January 28 in 1922 and ended with the final on April 15, 1922 Hampden Park of Glasgow . Partick Thistle started as defending champion in the competition that had won against Glasgow Rangers in the final last year . In this year's Scottish Cup final, Greenock Morton and the Rangers faced each other. The Tons from Greenock reached the cup final for the first time in the club's history. The Rangers moved into the finals for the second time in a row and for the eleventh time since 1877 . The Tons won the final 1-0 with a goal from Jimmy Gourlay . The Rangers played ten minutes from about 30 minutes after Andy Cunningham broke his jaw . The entire team of the Tons from the 1921/22 season was inducted into the club's Hall of Fame in 2014 . In the Scottish Championship , the Rangers were runner-up behind Celtic Glasgow , the Tons were twelfth in the table.
