The Scottish FA Cup was played for the 118th time in 2002/03 . The Scottish Football Cup, officially held as Tennent's Scottish Cup and run by the Scottish Football Association, began on December 7, 2002 and ended with the final on May 31, 2003 in Glasgow's Hampden Park . As defending champion who started Rangers who in previous Old Firm - finals against Celtic with 3: 2 interspersed could. With a 1-0 final win over FC Dundee , the Rangers were able to successfully defend the title, and together with the championship and league cup they won in the 2002/03 season, they made the triple perfect. Thanks to Lorenzo Amoruso's winning goal and the associated success, the title in the Scottish FA Cup was won for the 31st time. The defeated FC Dundee conceded their fourth defeat in the fifth final, only in 1909/10 they managed to win. Due to the Champions League participation of Rangers, FC Dundee started in the following 2003/04 UEFA Cup season and was eliminated there in the first round against the Italian club AC Perugia .
