The Scottish FA Cup was played for the 23rd time in 1895/96 . The most important Scottish football cup competition began on November 11, 1895 and ended with the final on March 14, 1896 in which Heart of Midlothian was able to prevail 3-1 against the Hibs in the Edinburgh Derby . The game was played at Logie Green in Edinburgh and should be the only Scottish Cup final that was not played in Glasgow to date . The Hearts celebrated the greatest successes in the club's history during this period with two championships and four cup wins.
