The Scottish FA Cup was played for the 30th time in 1902/03 . The most important Scottish football cup competition, which was directed and hosted by the Scottish Football Association, began on January 2, 1903 and ended with the decisive third repeat final on April 25, 1903 in Celtic Park in Glasgow . As defending champion, Hibernian Edinburgh started the competition, which had prevailed 1-0 against Celtic Glasgow in the previous year's final . In this year's Scottish Cup final, the Glasgow Rangers and Heart of Midlothian faced each other. It was the seventh cup final for the Rangers after 1877 , 1879 , 1894 , 1897 , 1898 and 1899 . With a 3-0 win in the third replay final game, the Rangers won their fourth cup victory in the club's history after 1894, 1897 and 1898. For the Hearts it was the first defeat in the fourth final after 1891 , 1896 and 1901 . In the event this season there was some overlap between the respective rounds and their replays.
