The Scottish Cup competition began on September 26, 2009 and ended with the final at Hampden Park on May 15, 2010, in which Dundee United prevailed 3-0 against Ross County FC . Dundee United won the Scottish FA Cup for the second time since 1994 in their ninth final appearance and qualified for the play-off round for the 2010/11 UEFA Europa League .
