history

Huntly FC was founded in 1928. In the same year he joined the Highland Football League and completed the first competitive game on August 25, 1928 in the league game of the 1928/29 season against Inverness Thistle . The team became champions in their second year of membership in the league. Only 64 years later could the second championship be won in the 1993/94 season. In the 1965/66 season, the club set a record in the Highland Football League with 147 goals scored, which has not been broken to this day. In December 1975, the local Christie Park was closed for two months after a storm because a referee had been assaulted. In the Scottish Cup , the club was able to cause a sensation in the 2007/08 season , when they moved into the 4th round by defeating FC Fraserburgh , Annan Athletic and FC Culter . In the 2013/14 season, Huntly FC was the eighth time champion of the Highland Football League, 20 points ahead of FC Inverurie Loco Works .
