The Scottish FA Cup was played for the 69th time in 1953/54 . The most important football cup competition in Scottish club football was directed and hosted by the Scottish Football Association. He started on January 30 in 1954 and ended with the final on 24 April 1954 at Hampden Park of Glasgow . As the defending champion, the Glasgow Rangers started the competition, who won in the final last year against FC Aberdeen . In this year's Scottish Cup final, Celtic Glasgow and again FC Aberdeen faced each other. For Celtic it was the 23rd final in the Scottish Cup since 1889 . The Dons reached the finals for the second time in a row, and for the fourth time overall since 1937 . Celtic won the final 2-1, their 17th cup victory since 1892 . The FC Aberdeen lost after 1937 and 1953 , the third of four finals. Only in 1947 succeeded in defeating Hibernian Edinburgh . In the 1953/54 season , Celtic was also the 20th Scottish champion and won the double for the fourth time after 1907, 1908 and 1914 . The defeated finalist from Aberdeen was ninth in the championship table. The League Cup was won by FC East Fife .
