The Scottish FA Cup was played for the 63rd time in 1947/48 . The most important football cup competition in Scottish club football was directed and hosted by the Scottish Football Association. He started on January 17, 1948, ended with the repetition finals on 21 April 1948 Hampden Park of Glasgow . As the defending champion, the FC Aberdeen started the competition, which had won in the final of the previous year against Celtic Glasgow . In this year's Scottish Cup final, the Glasgow Rangers and Greenock Morton faced each other. For the Rangers , it was the 19th Scottish Cup final since 1877 . Morton reached the final for the second time after 1922 in which the Rangers were defeated 1-0. The Rangers team from Glasgow won after a 1-1 draw in the replay final 1-0 after extra time with a goal from Billy Williamson , which meant the 11th Cup victory since 1894 . In the 1947/48 season Hibernian Edinburgh was Scottish champion for the second time . The Rangers were runner-up , Morton narrowly escaped relegation. The League Cup was won by FC East Fife .
