The Scottish FA Cup was played for the 49th time in 1926/27 . The most important football cup competition in Scottish club football was directed and hosted by the Scottish Football Association. It began on January 15, 1927 and ended with the final on April 16, 1927 in Hampden Park in Glasgow . FC St. Mirren started as defending champions in the competition, which had won against Celtic Glasgow in the final last year . In this year's final for the Scottish Cup, Celtic Glasgow and the second division FC East Fife faced each other. For Celtic it was the 19th final in the Scottish Cup since 1889 . The Fifers from Methil reached the cup final for the first time in the club's history and were the first second division team to reach the final thirty years after FC Dumbarton . The favored Bhoys in Green won the final 3-1. It was the first final in Scotland to be broadcast live on the radio . The Scottish championship in the same year won the Glasgow Rangers in front of FC Motherwell and Celtic . The Fifers were sixth in the table in the 2nd division .
