The Scottish FA Cup was played for the 122nd time in 2006/07 . The Scottish Football Cup, officially held as Tennent's Scottish Cup and run by the Scottish Football Association, began on November 18, 2006 and ended with the final on May 26, 2007 in Glasgow's Hampden Park . Defending champion was Heart of Midlothian , who prevailed against FC Gretna in the previous year's final . With a 1-0 final win over Dunfermline Athletic , Celtic Glasgow was able to make the double of championship and cup perfect in the 2006/07 season . Thanks to the winning goal by Jean-Joël Perrier-Doumbé and the success that went with it, Celtic was able to win the title for the 34th time and further expand its record as the Scottish Cup winner compared to their city rivals, the Rangers . Dunfermline, however, conceded the third defeat in five finals, previously in 2003/04 and 1964/65 curiously all against Celtic . This year's finalist Dunfermline Athletic was due to the Champions League participation of Glasgow for the following 2007/08 UEFA Cup season , and was eliminated there in the second qualifying round against the Swedish club BK Häcken .
The matches were played on April 15 and 16, 2007. The replay took place on April 24, 2007. The two semi-finals and the replay were each played in Hampden Park .
