Scott Wilson (born March 19, 1977 in Edinburgh ) is a former Scottish football player.

Career

Scott Wilson joined the Glasgow Rangers in July 1993 , for whom he initially played in the Youth Academy . He made his professional debut with the Rangers at the age of 19 in the 1996/97 UEFA Champions League against Ajax Amsterdam at home in Ibrox Park . Two more games followed in the Champions League against Grasshopper Zurich and AJ Auxerre , before making his debut in the Scottish Premier League against Hibernian Edinburgh in December 1996 . Until the club change in 2002 he was a total of 77 times, including 48 times in the Premier League, where he managed a goal against Dundee United . With the Rangers , Wilson, who mostly came as a supplementary player, won the Scottish Championship three times, as well as the Cup and League Cup twice. From March to April 2002 he was awarded to Portsmouth FC , for which he played five times under Harry Redknapp in the English First Division . In August 2002 the defensive player signed a two-year contract with Dunfermline Athletic , which he later extended several times. Two weeks later he made his debut for the new team against the Rangers , who ended with goals from Mikel Arteta , Fernando Ricksen and Barry Ferguson and a hat trick from Claudio Caniggia in a 6-0 defeat for Athletic . With Dunfermline Wilson reached the cup final in 2007 which was lost by a goal by Jean-Joël Perrier-Doumbé against Celtic Glasgow . From 2009 to 2010 he played in the Australian A-League for North Queensland Fury where he ended his career.
