The Scottish FA Cup was played for the 32nd time in 1904/05 . The most important Scottish football cup competition, which was directed and hosted by the Scottish Football Association, began on January 21, 1905 and ended with the final on April 15, 1905 in Hampden Park in Glasgow . As the defending champion, Celtic Glasgow started the competition that had prevailed in the previous year's final against the Glasgow Rangers in the Old Firm derby. In the final, the Rangers and Third Lanark faced each other. Third Lanark won the Scottish Cup for the second time in the fourth final after 1876 , 1878 and 1889 . The final was only decided in the replay.
