The Scottish FA Cup was played for the 117th time in 2001/02 . The most important Scottish Cup competition, which was officially held as Tennent's Scottish FA Cup , began on November 17, 2001 and ended with the final on May 4, 2002. If a duel was not decided after 90 minutes, it was a replay. If this was not decided after 90 minutes plus extra time, there was a penalty shoot-out. The Rangers secured the title in the Old Firm final game against Celtic .
