The Scottish FA Cup was played for the 47th time in 1924/25 . The most important football cup competition in Scottish club football was directed and hosted by the Scottish Football Association. As defending champions, Airdrieonians FC started the competition that had won against Hibernian Edinburgh in the final last year . The Diamonds from Airdrie were eliminated in the round of 16 against the eventual finalists FC Dundee from the competition. In this year's Scottish Cup final, Celtic Glasgow and FC Dundee faced each other. For Celtic it was the 17th final in the Scottish Cup since 1889 . The FC Dundee reached for the second time after 1910 the final. The Bhoys won the final 2-1 with one goal each from Patsy Gallacher and Jimmy McGrory and one goal from David McLean . Celtic won the cup for the 11th time and passed FC Queen's Park . The Scottish Championship was won by the Glasgow Rangers , Celtic was fourth and Dundee eighth.
