The Scottish FA Cup was played for the 53rd time in 1930/31 . The most important football cup competition in Scottish club football was directed and hosted by the Scottish Football Association. He started on January 17 in 1931 and ended with the repetition finals on 15 April 1931 Hampden Park of Glasgow . As the defending champion, the Glasgow Rangers started the competition, who won against Partick Thistle in the final last year . The Rangers were eliminated in the 2nd round against FC Dundee . In this year's final for the Scottish Cup stood each otherCeltic Glasgow and Motherwell FC opposite. For Celtic it was the 19th final in the Scottish Cup since 1889 . The FC Motherwell reached the final for the first time. The Bhoys won by a 2: 2 in the first game the repeat final with 4: 2, and for the 13th time winning the cup. Two years later Well lost again the final against Celtic . The Scottish Championship was won by the Rangers ahead of Celtic and Well .
