Craig Beattie (born January 16, 1984 in Glasgow ) is a Scottish football player who has been under contract with Heart of Midlothian since 2012 .
Career
society
The striker played from Glasgow arch-rivals Rangers in his youth but was released from then-coach Dick Advocaat to join Celtic. The situation was similar with Kenny Dalglish and Danny McGrain , who switched to Celtic as Rangers fans during their youth.
After he was able to score four goals towards the end of the 2004/05 season, he began the 2005/06 season with three games in a row with one goal each, which no Scottish Celtic player since Gerry Creaney had succeeded. He scored seven goals in the first three months of the season, but an injury against Dundee United forced him to sit out the rest of the season. Beattie was an outstanding goalscorer even in his youth. He was able to mark all six goals in a 6-0 win in a preparatory game for the U-19s of Celtic against Derry City . Derry's youth coach James O'Kane said after the game that Beattie's performance on the pitch "both made his day sweet and ruined" for him.
He did not return to Celtic until early 2007 after a long injury hiatus. But did not achieve the desired success there and moved to West Bromwich Albion in England for the 2007/08 season . On August 28, 2009, the Scottish attacker transferred to the championship club Swansea City , where he signed a three-year contract. In February 2012, Beattie signed a contract with Heart of Midlothian .
National team
Beattie made seven appearances for Scotland and scored one goal.
