Mehlfien is a district of the municipality of Jameln in the joint municipality of Elbtalaue in the Lüchow-Dannenberg district in Lower Saxony .

geography

The place is three kilometers west of Jameln. The village has the structure of a round with a village square, the courtyards around the square are mostly more recent.

history

In 1680 there were four desolate farms in the area of ​​the village and the place was not repopulated until the beginning of the 19th century. In the statistical handbook for the Kingdom of Hanover, eleven residential buildings with 75 inhabitants are recorded for 1848. At that time the place belonged to the house bailiff of the Dannenberg office .
