Breselenz is a district and the main town of the Jameln municipality in the Elbtalaue municipality in the Lüchow-Dannenberg district in Lower Saxony . The place is 1 km west of Jameln. To the east, 1 km away, the B 248 runs in a north-south direction . The name is derived from the Slavic words "breza" (birch) and "lanka" (curvature, bay, swamp meadow, floodplain).
history
On July 1, 1972, Breselenz was incorporated into the municipality of Jameln and thus became the geographical center of the newly created municipality.
Architectural monuments
- The Protestant St. Martin's Church is a neo-Gothic hall building from 1859/60. The wooden ceiling inside is new. The stately late Gothic carved altar dates from the early 16th century. The pulpit with painted evangelists dates from around 1600 .
- The manor house is a former stately, two-storey half - timbered building from 1749, which is now in decline. It was sold by the heirs of the Counts of Grote to Breese .
