The FC Dumbarton Harp (officially: Dumbarton Harp Football Club ) was a Scottish football club from Dumbarton .
history
In the late nineteenth century were the successes of Hibernian and Celtic Glasgow , the Irish - Catholic immigrants in Scotland inspired to start their own clubs within communities. In 1894 the community in Dumbarton decided to found FC Dumbarton Harp (Harp; English for harp). The club colors were accordingly green and white. Until 1907, the club competed at the amateur level. He played for the Scottish Football Union between 1908 and 1912 , and won the championship in 1910. In the seasons 1919/20 , 1921/22 and 1923/24 , the club took part in the first main round of the Scottish Cup . In 1923 the club moved to the Scottish Football League and played in Division Three . After a 10th place in the 1923/24 season, the club withdrew from the game operations in the following season after 17 games in January 1925 due to financial problems and low attendance numbers and went out.
