Alexandra Athletic was founded in 1873. Between 1873 and 1884 the club took part in the Scottish Cup ten times . The greatest success in the 1873/74 season was reaching the quarter-finals. The club played in white jerseys and shorts and blue socks. The club was named after Alexandra Park in Dennistoun, a district of Glasgow . This in turn was named after Alexandra of Denmark . Alexandra Athletic was dissolved in 1884.
