Dianbobo Baldé (born October 5, 1975 in Marseille ) is a former Guinean football player .

Career

Baldé began his career in his hometown at Olympique Marseille , but there he was not used and was loaned to FC Mulhouse for the 1997/98 season . There he became a regular player, but was relegated from Ligue 2 . He was then awarded to the Ligue 1 relegated AS Cannes . In the summer of 1999 he left Marseille entirely and moved to Toulouse FC . With FC Toulouse he made promotion to Ligue 1 in the 1999/2000 season, but this was followed by immediate relegation. Due to his good performance Balde recommended himself to continue to play first class and was signed by Celtic Glasgow . With Celtic Glasgow he won the Scottish Championship five times, the Scottish FA Cup three times and the Scottish League Cup twice . He also reached the final of the UEFA Cup in the 2002/03 season , which was lost to FC Porto . At the end of the 2008/09 season, Celtic Glasgow announced that the contract with Baldé would not be renewed. He then signed a one-year contract with the French first division club Valenciennes FC .

With the Guinean national soccer team he took part in the soccer championship of Africa in 2004, 2006 and 2008 and reached the quarter-finals there. In 2005 he won the Amílcar Cabral Cup with Guinea .
