Dieter Finkler (born November 10, 1952 in Dudweiler ) is a former German soccer player .
Career
Finkler came from ASC Dudweiler to 1. FC Saarbrücken in 1971 . With the Saarlanders he played in the Regionalliga, from 1974 in the newly introduced 2nd Bundesliga . In the 1975/76 season , Finkler managed to win the championship under the Yugoslav coach Slobodan Čendić and teammates such as Dieter Ferner , Reinhold Zech , Felix Magath and Metodija Spasovski and thus rose to the Bundesliga . He had one more year in which to hold the class. He then played for a year at FK Pirmasens in the 2nd Bundesliga, after which he moved to league rivals SC Fortuna Köln . He was a constant at Cologne for the next eight years, his last game he played against FC 08 Homburg in the 1984/85 season when he played the first half on matchday 1.
