The Allgemeine Sport Club Dudweiler is a sports club from the Saarbrücken district of Dudweiler . The association was founded on January 22nd, 1950, but some of the associated departments are older than the entire association. In addition to soccer , tennis , boxing , air sports and badminton are offered.

ASC Dudweiler has a large number of its own facilities: the “ Am Brennenden Berg ” football stadium , the “ASC Arena” (another grass pitch, leased by the City of Saarbrücken since 2014), a hard court, five tennis courts, indoor tennis courts, club home for tennis and soccer.

The "Old Villa", which was completely renovated in 2004, now offers changing rooms, business rooms, a meeting room and a groundskeeper apartment.

The glider pilots own four gliders and one motor glider and fly at the Landesleistungszentrum Saar (LLZS) in Marpingen .

history

The history of ASC Dudweiler begins at the beginning of the 20th century. In 1905 the first football club "Teutonia Dudweiler" was founded in Dudweiler, from which in 1912 the sports club "Hansa Dudweiler" emerged. After the courses in Bremmenberg and Richardschacht, the venue for the newly founded club was the "Kitten". The club colors, which were initially black and white, quickly became blue and white, the current colors of the ASC Dudweiler. From 1913 the SV Hansa took part in the round of the Saar-Palatinate Association. In 1921 the sports field was relocated to the Büchel in Dudweiler and was known under the name "Hansa-Kampfbahn". In 1945 the club was renamed TSV Dudweiler.

On August 5, 1947, at an extraordinary general meeting in the Högel clubhouse in Bahnhofstrasse, it was decided to change the name of the club, from then on it was called ASC Dudweiler. But it took another two years before the statutes were drawn up on January 22, 1950. The first entry in the register of associations took place on June 12, 1950.

The first presidents of ASC Dudweiler were Karl Becker and Ludwig Geibig. The new stadium "Am Brennenden Berg" was built during this time. The prerequisite for this was a site and building exchange with the ATV Dudweiler in 1958: the ASC received the kitten sports field and the house (the "Old Villa"), the ATVD became the Hansa-Kampfbahn (today's "Jahnsportplatz" in the old town path) ) transferred. The stadium was then inaugurated on August 15, 1959. The first two presidents were followed by Ferdi Behles (1971–1984), whose work is particularly associated with the construction of the “Auf dem Kitten” sports hall. Its completion was in April 1975. Under Behles, the standing room in the stadium was also expanded.

Willy Koch then led the club for twelve years until 1996. Willy Koch was actively involved in the rebuilding of Saarland football after the Second World War . He was the first president of the Saarland Football Association (SFV) and helped football to gain more and more prestige in what was then the Saar region , including in the international arena. Because of his services to the club, he was made honorary president of the ASC Dudweiler club in 1999.

In October 1996 Heinrich Biehl took over the presidency and caused a huge boost in the entire association during his term of office. With the newly introduced managing director and the use of a tax advisor, finances and organization were reorganized and the club's own facilities (house "Alte Villa", club house and tennis hall) were renovated; In particular, with the construction of the ASC Arena (new grass pitch with spectator stands and attractive surroundings) great things were achieved and no debts were incurred due to the considerable amount of personal work. The club presented itself to the population by means of large sports days and was able to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the ASC Dudweiler in 2000, although most of the departments are older than the entire club.

In November 2010, Stefan Schorr was elected President of the association. An extremely difficult cash situation made it necessary that, in addition to the closure of 3 tennis courts, the ASC-Arena had to be sold to the city of Saarbrücken. The further use of the space for the next 30 years has been secured through a lease.

Since the general assembly in March 2014, Gabriele Ungers has been the first woman to run the association. Due to personal reasons, she was followed by Fritz Weinbrecht in March 2019, who, however, handed over his position to Uwe Wagner in October of the same year.
