Sports badge of the Saarland
The Saarland sports plaque is the highest award for sport in the German state of Saarland . It was awarded for the first time in 1997.
purpose
With the award, the ministry honors personalities who have made a special contribution to organized sport in voluntary work at association, district, district, or club level. The sports badge is intended to thank volunteers who are involved in sport in a special way for their helpfulness and selfless commitment. In addition to involvement in organized sport, the decisive criterion is the way in which voluntary service to the community and especially in youth work is carried out over many years. The sports badge can be given annually to individuals or teams.
Award criteria
The sports badge of Saarland may be awarded to a maximum of ten people or teams, according to award guidelines annually. For the award of the Saarland sports badge, proposals can be submitted to the Saarland Ministry of Labor, Family, Social Affairs, Prevention and Sport by July 1st of each year. A form must be used for this. The state sports association for Saarland , the Saarland sports associations, the districts or the Saarbrücken regional association as well as the cities and municipalities of Saarland are eligible to apply . A selection committee has been set up at the ministry chaired by Werner Zimmer .
Award
The award is made by the Saarland Minister for Labor, Family, Social Affairs, Prevention and Sport at a ceremony in a representative atmosphere. In addition to the framed, large-format certificate, a Plexiglas plaque individually engraved with the respective name is presented. It is provided with a stand so that it can be placed on the table.
