Nikolaus Semlitsch

Nikolaus Semlitsch (born November 27, 1946 ), called Niko, is a former German football player and today's coach.

career

Niko Semlitsch began playing soccer at his home club FSV Steinbach , now FSV Fernwald , when he was 17 years old when he played for the A-League club for the first time in a senior game. On the occasion of a district selection game in June 1969 against Kickers Offenbach , Semlitsch convinced the then OFC coach Paul Oßwald to such an extent that he received a contract offer. His clubs as a professional were Kickers Offenbach from 1970 to 1974 (79 games, 6 goals) and from 1974 to 1978 1. FC Saarbrücken (65 games, 5 goals). In the Saarbrücken jersey, he scored the first goal of the 2nd Bundesliga on August 2, 1974 in the game against SV Darmstadt 98 .

From 1970 to 1972 Semlitsch was used twelve times in the amateur national team .

Semlitsch began his coaching career at TuSpo Ziegenhain . This was followed by positions with the upper division clubs Eintracht Haiger and FC 08 Villingen as well as in the 2nd Bundesliga with Kickers Offenbach and 1. FC Schweinfurt 05 . This was followed by further guest coaching games at SG Höchst , SC Neukirchen , SpVgg Bad Homburg , SG Egelsbach and KSV Klein-Karben . Until the summer of 2004 he was part of the coaching staff at FSV Frankfurt . A heart attack on March 30, 2004 during training meant the temporary end of his coaching career. After his recovery he was involved in the sporting management of FSV Frankfurt. From April 2006 he was the sporting director of the FSV Fernwald. At his hometown club, he also held the post of coach from October 2007 to September 2009. Nikolaus Semlitsch was coach at FC Turabdin-Babylon in Pohlheim from September 2010 to November 2014 . From November 2014 he coached VfB Giessen . After the end of the 2014/15 season, he ended his coaching career. With VfB 1900 Gießen he had reached the Hessen Cup final at KSV Hessen Kassel, but lost 2-1 in front of over 6,000 spectators.

Semlitsch is a retired post office worker and still lives today in Steinbach , a district of Fernwald .
