The sports club Neukirchen 1864 e. V. is one of the largest sports clubs in the Schwalm-Eder district and, with almost 600 members, is an important social force within the city of Neukirchen .
The football, gymnastics, triathlon / athletics and table tennis departments are currently active in the club. The football and gymnastics department are by far the largest divisions in the SCN. The SC Neukirchen became known nationwide through the first soccer team, which played for many years in the Oberliga Hessen and between 1995 and 1999 also in the Regionalliga Süd . In addition to the regional league promotion in 1995, one of the greatest sporting successes was winning the Hessen Cup three times in 1985, 1995 and 1997.
After several relegations and promotions, the SCN's first team is currently playing in the regional league. The reserve plays in the district league B. In the youth (C, D youth) the SCN plays together with the SG Immichenhain / Ottrau as a game community JSG Neukirchen / Ottrau .
