Sven Hoffmeister (born October 13, 1970 in Hanover ) is a former soccer goalkeeper . He works as a soccer coach at 1. FSV Mainz 05 .

career

Hoffmeister began his career at Olympia Kassel and then played at KSV Baunatal , SC Neukirchen and KSV Hessen Kassel before moving from SV Wehen to Mainz 05 in the second division in 2000 . He had his first employment in paid football on November 11, 2000 in the game against Hannover 96 ; He was substituted on for striker Michael Thurk in the 71st minute after goalkeeper Dimo Wache saw the red card . In the following three games he also replaced guard during his suspension in the Mainz goal, but then had to resign to the second member. In the 2003/04 and 2004/05 seasons he made 34 appearances in the second Mainz team in the Regionalliga.

In summer 2005 he moved to Kickers Emden , for whom he made 71 more regional league games in two seasons as a regular goalkeeper. For the 2007/08 season he went to Reutlingen , but moved to SV Sandhausen in January 2008, despite his two-year contract , with whom he qualified for the 3rd professional league in 2008/09.

For the 2010/11 season Hoffmeister went back to KSV Hessen Kassel in the Regionalliga Süd, where he had already played six games in the 1994/95 season. At the end of the 2011/12 season, he switched to the KSV's supervisory staff as co-trainer and goalkeeper. From summer 2013 Hoffmeister was also coach of the U-21s together with Marco Althans.

Since June 2014 he has been a goalkeeping coach at the Mainz 05 youth performance center . Since February 2015 he is responsible as an assistant coach of Sandro Schwarz also the second team of the club .
