Norbert Alban Eder (born November 7, 1955 in Bibergau , today in Dettelbach ; † November 2, 2019 ) was a German football player .

Career

After ten years with the youth club VfR Bibergau , Eder moved to 1. FC Nürnberg at the age of 18 in December 1973 , with whom he became German A youth champion in 1974 . He made his professional debut on August 28, 1974. By 1984 he played 300 league games and scored 28 goals for the "club" with which he was promoted to the Bundesliga in 1979 and again in 1981 . In the 1979/80 season he was elected captain of 1. FC Nürnberg by his teammates.

From 1984 to 1988 he was a member of the FC Bayern Munich squad . In four seasons Eder completed 132 league games and won four national titles with his team (three times champions, once cup winners). In addition, he came to 28 European Cup games. His only goal for Bayern in an international competition, he marked on March 2, 1988 in the quarter-final first leg of the European Cup , when he succeeded in the interim 2-0 in a 3-2 win against Real Madrid . Eder was a member of the FC Bayern team and was always one of the most frequently used players, with the most games in 1985 and 1986. For teammates like Ludwig Kögl he was considered a leading player.

He left his career in June 1990 after two seasons in Switzerland at FC Zurich , with whom he first in the National League B , then in the National League A played, finish.

In total, Eder played 286 games in the first division and 147 in the second division.

National team

On April 16, 1975 in the 0-0 draw in Bielefeld as part of the Olympic qualification against Spain, Eder played for the first time in the jersey of the amateur national team . He scored his first goal on May 11, 1977 in a 5-0 win in Mulhouse over France. He played his only international B match on November 18, 1980 in Braunschweig in a 1-0 win over France.

As a trainer, Norbert Eder took over responsibility at Sportbund Rosenheim from 1992 to 1996 , with which he achieved promotion to the BOL ( regional league ). This was followed by a season at 1. Norbert Eder died on November 2, 2019 after a long illness.
