Günter Dämpfling (born November 11, 1956 in Moorenbrunn ) is a former German football player .

Career

Günter Dämpfling made it to the final of the German A-Youth Championship with the A-youth team of 1. FC Nürnberg . In the final, Dämpfling and his teammates such as Klaus Müller , Reiner Kraus and Helmut Steuerwald met the 1. FC Köln team . In the 63rd minute of the game, Dämpfling took on Cologne goalkeeper Wolfgang Mattern for a penalty kick . Dampfling scored, Nuremberg took a 1-0 lead and took the lead for the rest of the time. Nuremberg was A youth champion in 1974.

Damping made the leap from youth to the club's professional team, played eight times in his first season and then switched to league rivals Jahn Regensburg for one season , before returning to Nuremberg. He stayed with the club until 1980, was a continuous supplementary player and was involved in promotion to the Bundesliga in the 1977/78 season and in immediate relegation. For the next five years he played in the 2nd Bundesliga, three with SC Freiburg and two with Hannover 96 . Then he moved to the amateur camp at FSV Bad Windsheim.
