Egwin "Ede" Wolf (born January 28, 1951 ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

Wolf started playing football in the youth department of SV Ende. He later moved to TSG Herdecke before moving to Borussia Dortmund in 1972 . With Borussia he played in the second highest division in Germany, the Regionalliga West . BVB was relegated from the Bundesliga in the previous year and was plagued by financial difficulties that had an impact on the squad. There were no notable newcomers and the salaries of the remaining players were reduced. Changes in the board of directors, in the coaching bench and the opening of the Westfalenstadion led to an improvement in the financial situation, which quickly had a sporting effect. Wolf and players such as Horst Bertram , Helmut Nerlinger , Miroslav Votava , Hans-Werner Hartl , Peter Geyer succeeded in qualifying in 1976 with a second place in the 2nd Bundesliga North, introduced in 1974, in which BVB has played since it was founded for the promotion round to the Bundesliga. Wolf was instrumental in this success with 28 league appearances and 6 goals. In the following two promotion games against 1. FC Nürnberg , Dortmund prevailed, Wolf marked the final score to 0: 1 in the first leg in Nürnberg. The second leg was won 3-2 in front of a home crowd, Wolf rose to the top with Dortmund. Until the end of 1978, Wolf ran for BVB in the Bundesliga.

He then worked for half a year for the Swiss club FC Chiasso before ending his career with Dallas Tornado in the USA . In the meantime he also played for Dallas Lightning in 1979/80 .
