Manfred Cremer (born October 28, 1946 in Bonn ) is a former German soccer player . The offensive full-back played a total of 86 games in the Bundesliga and scored 12 goals for the clubs Wuppertaler SV and 1. FC Saarbrücken . In the 2nd Bundesliga , he completed another 52 games (three goals).

Career

His career began at Bonner SC in 1966 in the West Regional Football League . From 1966 to 1970 he played 97 regional league games for his home club, scoring five goals. He made his debut on August 28, 1966 at the home game against VfR Neuss in what was then the second division. For the 1970/71 round he moved to Wuppertaler SV , for which he played until 1975. He accompanied the team in its most successful period as a 1972 promotion to the Bundesliga succeeded. The team from the Stadion am Zoo reached the western championship with 33: 1 home points and 64: 9 goals in the home games. Cremer came from 1970 to 1972 on 60 other regional league appearances and scored six goals for Wuppertal. In the first Bundesliga season 1972/73 , the best result so far was achieved when they finished the season in fourth place and thus qualified for the UEFA Cup (now the UEFA Europa League ). The team awarded an even better position in the Bundesliga with three consecutive defeats shortly before the end of the season. Cremer had played 33 league games and scored five goals. The man from Bonn made his Bundesliga debut on September 16, 1972 in a 2-0 home win against 1. FC Kaiserslautern. In the 90th minute of the game, the offensive right full-back scored the 2-0 final score. From 1972 to 1975 Cremer made 70 Bundesliga appearances and scored eleven goals for coach Horst Buhtz's team.

After the Wuppertal relegation in the 1974/75 round , Cremer moved to 1. FC Saarbrücken in the 2. Bundesliga South ; Here, too, he succeeded in 1976 under coach Slobodan Čendić and teammates Ludwig Denz , Felix Magath , Egon Schmitt and Ernst Traser, promotion to the first division. Saarbrücken reached the 14th place and thus held the class. Manfred Krafft had replaced Čendić on October 25, 1976 and Cremer had come to 16 missions with one goal. For the 1977/78 round he moved to FK Pirmasens in the 2nd Bundesliga South , where he ended his high-class career in the summer of 1978 after a season with 30 second division appearances and one goal under coaches Bernd Patzke and Horst Brill .
