The Réserve écologique du Bog-à-Lanières is a 433 hectare protected area established in 1992 in the south of the Canadian province of Québec , in the Agglomération de La Tuque west of the Batiscan . It is 60 km from La Tuque at Lac-Édouard .

The protected area lies in a wide depression and primarily represents the flora and fauna that are characteristic of the moors of the region, more precisely for the nutrient-poor bog in the middle Laurentides. This type of bog is only supplied with water by rain and snow and is very poor in minerals.

The actual protected area only represents the most important, inner part of the bog, but cannot exist in the long term without the surrounding bog types that surround this core. This type of bog is particularly rare in Quebec. The larger, shallow water area in the north of the protected area harbors rosemary heather ( Andromeda polifolia ), but also species of the genera Laurel Roses and Schnabelriede . This inner area is initially surrounded by a belt of black spruce , which in turn is surrounded by a ring of bog marked by ferns .
